Day 29 - A movie that changed your opinion about something

The Departed, from Martin Scorsese. It changed my opinion on Leonardo DiCaprio. I know that Leo has always been a very talented actor, but he I didn't know him before he exploded in Titanic, and for some times, I had this image of him being that successful pretty boy of Hollywood. I wasn't particularly impressed by Romeo + Juliet, and I was probably the only girl of my generation who went to see The Man in the Iron Mask for d'Artagnan and not for Leo. I wasn't actually interested in him at all. Then I saw the Departed. I was all set to root for Matt Damon's character. Except it was Leo who totally blew my mind and stole the screen. It was a sincere revelation. I never had a crush on him, but I have a great admiration for his talent.

Similarly, the three movies Ben Affleck directed - Gone Baby Gone, The Town and Argo - showed me an all new side of Ben that I never suspected. I'm still not found of him as an actor, but he sure knows how to use a camera.
