#Sherlocklives #Sherlocknotdead #SherlockHolmesisback !! \o/
And there was no better way to kick off this brand new year !

I'm among the lucky ones who discovered that brilliant series late enough that I only had to wait about 6 months to know "how he did it?!"

Not that we actually got a clear answer... No, because the show is more clever than that. We got 3 possibilities, none for sure. I would say the last one is the most likely, though I also love the first and second for this:

Heeeee !
Also, after I watched the last episode of season 2, I went online to try and find some info. I didn't find anything about season 3, but I did read a lot of speculations on how Sherlock did it... And well, it was basically all in the 3 versions (ok, maybe not the Sherlock/Moriarty one). I don't know whether the fans are obsessively clever or if the writers read all the hypotheses online to find possible explanations.
Though to be fair, I do think the writers are clever enough to figure a solution on their own, and I'm sure they had it all planned already in their head. Because this show is so well written it hurts the brain. It's incredible how little things that seemed odd or duh in previous seasons are suddenly making more sense from the new perspective.

So, anyway, we don't know for sure, how he did it, and yet, I can't say I feel cheated because that episode was so good!
I so love this show. It's like White Collar, twice as good. (Yes, I did say that.) We only get 3 episodes every seasons (And let's hope it's not gonna be every two years again), but each episode, and each full season is seriously thought through. The show is clever, challenging, engaging and wonderfully shot. The actors are awesome, the dialogues are chiselled, the humor is "so British", and the Sherlock Holmes mythology is perfectly mastered.

Oh and this is definitely the other best bromance on TV.
Contrary to other versions (from the Guy Ritchie movies, to House/Wilson), the partnership between Holmes and Watson actually works. If Sherlock is indeed a sociopath, he is not abusing too much of Watson. He really cares about him (and about Molly too). This Sherlock is more human than most, and the partnership benefits to both men.
So, yes it's true that Sherlock's trick in the tube car where he makes Watson believe he can't stop the bomb was a little mean, but I think he did it because he really wanted Watson to forgive him, because Watson's friendship means a lot to him. Like in the previous season, he was bothered that Watson was upset about the trashing gossips.

And even if Watson wasn't in the mood to appreciate, wasn't Sherlock's waiter disguise the cutest thing he's ever done?

Tonight Elementary starts on French TV. I'm finally going to give it a try, but the bar has been set high...

I really enjoyed this episode, but then I've loved all of Sherlock BBC so far!! And I don't mind that we don't really know if the last version of how he did it was any more true than the earlier two - that's just part of the Sherlock mystery!

I'm also enjoying Elementary a lot too - it's a different approach to Sherlock, but I think it works well. Female Watson is excellent, and there is no UST at all, just friendship (it's made quite clear by the writers that it's friendship), which I like, not being a big fan of UST. If you're okay with AU versions of Sherlock, then you should be okay with this one too.

Yes I agree it was even better this way because indeed Sherlock keeps his mystery but at the same time the show proved they could have explained it all.

We'll see about Elementary. It just started. :-)

Just found out that Sherlock and Mycroft's parents in this episode were Wanda Ventham and Timothy Carlton, Benedict Cumberbatch's real life parents! Cool! :)

Oh funny, it's really a family business this series. Mary is Martin Freeman's real life wife :-)

Elementary is okay, though it's nothing near Sherlock....
But it's funny to see the guy from Copycat Caffrey. And Sherlock walking down the supreme court stairs we saw twice this season ;-)

ETA: by the way I loved that scene with Sherlock's parents and Watson's reaction. "They seem ordinary" andSherlock's answer with his little smile was priceless. Glad he let his parents know he wasn't dead. :-) But it remains a mystery how they made 2 so excentric sons!

I didn't know that about Mary, lol! Definitely a family show!!

Oh, if you keep watching Elementary, there will be other familiar faces now and then. Same as in Castle and Person of Interest, that are also shot in New York, I keep spotting WC guest actors every so often! As for Elementary, it is different to BBC Sherlock. It's more of a fun show than a serious drama, but it definitely grew on me the more I watched. Want to say more, but don't want to risk spoiling by accident.

Well, it's on every fridays until we run out of episodes (not sure if they plan to stop at season one or go on with season 2, French TV broadcasting is a bit unpredictable...), and it's definitely watchable. It's more like a regular procedural. I'll continue, so don't say anything. :-)

I don't think Castle is actually shot in NY. We don't see recognizable places like we do in WC.

There was a DVD feature on S3 Castle (that I watched just last night) saying that they film in LA and make it look like NY, but I thought it was one of those jokey documentaries, not actually true!! Feeling a bit dumb now! Though in my defence, why on earth aren't they filming in NY if it's set there?!! *mind boggles*

I think it's cheaper to shot in LA and mostly in studios than in lots of actual location like White Collar.
There's actually a lot of shows set in NY, or Chicago, whatever, shot in LA. There's even a whole fake NY street in the LA studios that you see in a lot of shows and movies.

But at least you found the perfect opportunity to use that new icon! ;-)

I knew I'd need a WC facepalm icon sooner or later... :)

I guess it's like a lot of sci-fi shows were filmed in Vancouver due to it being more cost-effective!

By the way, Elementary is really filmed in NY. And so is Person of Interest (both in the same studios as White Collar)
