Today is George Clooney's birthday. It is also Orson Welles', who would have turned 100 today. Yep, they're both sharing the same birthday. No pressure George... ;)
Anyway, this is a good occasion to (re)discover Orson Welles' famous War of the Worlds radio broadcast, that supposedly created a wave of panic over the country... That was 1938, and this is just absolutely brilliant.
On a different note, unless you're allergic to any talks against the 2nd amendement, I highly recommand this very funny video from Jim Jefferies, making very good arguments against gun ownership.
Should get my S6 DVD tomorrow (Amazon seems to be rather expeditive, I appreciate), but I've already caught the extras circulating here and there. Of course, it made me want to watch the season again. And made me feel all nostalgic again. And then. There was this deleted scene:
Peter: Is there anything you haven't told me about the operation?
Neal: If I was surprised by you asking, I'd be offended.
Peter: Then answer the question.
Neal: There's nothing.
Peter: No tricks, no schemes, no cons?
Neal: That's so hard to believe?
Peter: I want to believe it.
Neal: Then believe it.
Peter: Okay. I will.
And I just... It's so heartbreaking. On so many levels...
Don't ever tell me again that Neal never lied to Peter, cause that's a lie, right to his face. And this, and the whole thing, sadly justifies that Peter should never trust Neal.
And don't worry, I am actively working on this issue. I'll get passed it. I need to work this out so that I can imagine them walking out into the sunset.
I hate this time of year where all my shows are ending at once. Last Man on Earth and Person of Interest this week. The Good Wife and Castle next week. And that's it?! Man, I need new shows in my life.
Yikes, what is Greet gonna do with Control?
So, we're still stuck with Samaritan. Can't say we made much progress this season...
I wish we had some sort of closure about Shaw.
Even though I've never been a big fan of the personification of the Machine, I did find that last conversation with Finch very touching.
Most importantly, so Iris should still be around next season? *is hopeful*
Last but not least, you can still request art for the Nepal fandomAid.

Date: 2015-05-07 02:04 pm (UTC)It's not like this scene changes much, but it still hurts to see it. It hurts that Peter actually directly asked Neal and Neal lied. It hurts to hear Peter say he wants to believe it.

Date: 2015-05-07 02:08 pm (UTC)It does hurt, it really does. Neal not lying to Peter is the one thing that never changed, through everything. Till now.

Date: 2015-05-07 12:29 pm (UTC)Although now I'm really starting to appreciate that Eastin stopped when he did, because I would hate to see how many more ways he could screw up that relationship. UGH.
On the upsite, I still have the last episode of Castle to watch. Still... can we now get some fluffy Peter-Neal fanfic, please? :(

Date: 2015-05-07 02:08 pm (UTC)I think that scene hurts so much because it just puts in a few words how I felt about the whole con. Peter wants to believe Neal. He wants to trust him. And that's his mistake. As usual.
And that's why it's gonna hurt so bad when he'll learn the truth.
