Three new promo posters for season 6 have surfaced recently on the web. Which I find at best not representative of the series (is this about a gigolo or something?), at worse ridiculous (a photo from season one photoshoot, really?). Also, once again, no Peter on any of them. And I know Matt Bomer is gorgeous and all and he looks just fine all deshiveled in the first one, but Peter is just as important to the story as Neal, and I wish that every once in a while the promo people would aknowledge him. I'm pretty sure it wouldn't harm the show's success...
So I decided to make my own poster. Something that looks a little more like "White Collar" to me. And with both guys.

Date: 2014-10-05 06:09 pm (UTC)There's the fact they're re-using old stocks of photos. Hell that pic of deshiveled Neal was released last year as a sort of "unused photoshoot". And as nice as this photo is, it's so far from what the show is about... It's not Fifty Shades of Caffrey, it's White Collar.
And there's the fact that once again, no Peter anywhere. NONE of the previous promo posters for any season has shown Peter. And he's only on the S4 and S5 DVDs. And yes, I understand, Matt's hot and young and I know there's a significant number of people who watch the show solely because Matt Bomer is sexy. But still, when you do a series of posters, you could still display the other man character every once in a while. I'm pretty sure that it wouldn't do any harm. Those promo are actually extremely misleading if you think this is the Caffrey show... Most of the other TV shows make posters that feature the 2 leads, or even 4 or 5 characters.
And to make it all worse, those posters are not even good conceptually. This is literally what fans can come up with when playing with existing material on photoshop to make some fanart.

Date: 2014-10-05 09:53 pm (UTC)Still, they're better than some SGA cast photos from S5, that were so badly shopped it looked like the cast were floating above the stairs/floor they were supposedly standing on!! (No shadows = floating people.)
Love your poster, much, much better! :)

Date: 2014-10-06 12:22 am (UTC)Yes, like, I don't know Person of Interest generally has 4 or 5 cast, Castle has Castle AND Beckett (for a show named Castle!), House had several fun promos with the entire cast... Suits always has the 2 guys, and Sherlock too. Damn everywhere I look they're more fair to their cast.
You'd think that with such an incredible cast, which is one of the main reasons the show is so good, they'd be a little more proud...
