Not any dictionary, the very serious Oxford Dictionary. This is official, we exist as a real thing.
fandom (n.): the fans of a particular person, team, series, etc., regarded collectively as a community or subculture.

Also Person of Interest.
Took me a little over 4, maybe 5 days, to watch the entire season 3. And that was because I had to work/see friends for the last time/start packing. But hey that's not my fault if "all the big end-of-season heavy stuff" happens by episode 8!
Also, I realized how good they had it on White Collar taking the summer period for filming... Remember that terrible winter earlier this year? Well, there's a LOT of snow this season on PoI and poor Jim had to wear a woolly hat to cover his ears all the time...
I also noticed how different New York looks in comparison with White Collar. Well, unless they're robbing the same bank (The one from Withdrawal).

By the way, I'm glad I was a season late on PoI becauseI don't think I could have taken any more deaths after Siegel and Will Garner (The Good Wife). What is it with those shows doing the same things all the time. Last year it was everyone going to jail (including John by the way, not that I was really worried for that Suit.), now it's everyone dying!
Damn that freaking episode, they almost made me cry. For characters I used not to really care about in the first place.
Also, I really didn't see it coming. Double didn't. Because I didn't see Reese/Carter coming, and even worse, I didn't see her getting killed, particularly so soon after!!  /o\
Given the circomstance, John got back on his feet reasonably quickly. But that poor guy, really. The first time he lets his guard down and opens his heart for another woman after the-blond-I-don't-remember-her-name-but-she's-El's-best-friend. I have to admit Jim Caviezel does the sad-puppy-who-needs-a-hug face very well.

Now that I'm done with season 3, I felt that I needed to catch on the episodes I missed from earlier seasons. And also rewatch some even if I had seen them already. Basically I have to rewatch seasons 1 and 2.
I think I'm addicted. Which is the biggest danger of binge-watching (another word that made it into the Oxford dictionary!). You get hooked and when you're done, you want more.

To be honest, as much as I love it, and as well-written as the show is, I really don't know where this is going. It seems like they dropped the principle of the "case of the week" even quicker than White Collar... Is that a new trend in TV shows? Are procedurals dead?
I do like when shows are evolving, but I still feel like this is going a little too fast. Also, I'm not a big fan of the idea that the Machine is a living entity. Like it's almost human and we have to respect and free her. That wasn't the initial idea. And it's still just a machine. All this stuff about creating gods, that's not really my cup of tea. So, I don't know where they're going with that Samaritan idea, but I do hope they won't be going too far into the crazy stuff. I like it better when it remains realistic and believable regarding today's technologies.

They robbed the same bank?! Wow, I missed that (how could I not identify that bank? something's wrong with me!). Which PoI episode was this?

I don't watch that much TV, I think, and the only shows I was really watching as they aired was White Collar and Person of Interest, so for me it was all new. I was getting suspicious they were heading towards killing Carter, but after they killed her off, I took a break for a while. I couldn't stand it. (and more of my thoughts here: http://treonb.livejournal.com/51168.html, though Root has grown on me since.)

As for their next step - I'm willing to wait and see how they do it. I was sure S3 would be a complete change, but they still continued with the 'number of the week'.

Oh I'm definitely going to watch S4. I was actually scratching my head at the end of season 2, and yet season 3 was very good.

I'm not a big fan of Root, though it's definitely better than it was. I still think there's a little too many secondary arcs and characters with the 2 machines, all those bad guys and all.

I just read your reaction post on episode 9, and you're absolutely right, that the development of her background story with kid and husband was a tell. Actually I did think about it when we saw that the husband had turned himself around and that the kid could be with him. She did say at first that she had sent her son away, at a point when we didn't where. And by the end, when it was clear it was at her husband's I was "huh huh that's not good". But I didn't really give it a though.
And you're also right about the kiss. I did think it was a little odd for this kind of show to go there between 2 main characters.
Still that was a big shock. And I really liked her as a character.
Also, she was the only female character I could easily recognize. Not like all those look alike brunettes! ;-)

I don't remember the episode number, but that's the bank where the Samaritan hard drives were hidden by Harold's college buddy. The guy that has a brain tumor. They spend quite some time in that bank and at one point I was like "hey wait, I know that place" ;-)

Oh, as much as I saw it coming, it was also a shock for me. I was hoping they'll kill of Fusco :-)

Hey, I totally missed the use of the same bank! How did I do that?!! Though I did catch the use of the same meeting room in Vital Signs and an Elementary episode, so maybe I'm not totally hopeless!! :D

I loved the first two seasons of POI and the early part of S3, but after the spoilery bit happened, I felt it lost its way a bit. It seemed to be pick up a bit towards the end of the season, and I'll certainly be watching S4, but like you, I'm not entirely sure where they're going with it all - and kind of wish they'd go back to the one-case-an-episode way of things.

Oh, and we totally need more Bear in the episodes too, imho!! :D

EDIT: And about time Oxford Dictionary caught up with fandom!!

Or maybe it's the other way round. You are hopeless when it comes to White Collar stuff. ;-)
It took me a while to recognize the bank - also I've visited it for real last year, it helps. And it's only the main floor and stair ways. The vault is a built set, so they're different in both shows (though I believe the heavy door Finch tries to close might be the real one).

Oh you're totally right, I wish we'd see Bear more often. :-) That dog is totally awesome.
And I agree about the back half of the season. I actually wish they'd killed them all. Now that we know (and they know) all the players, it's not really interesting to keep them all around.
