5. Something for a large fandom/pairing/character

So... I only have one fandom. I don't really do "pairings" in the fannish sense of it. So that leaves us.... a large character? Peter then? Okay, just kidding. I'll go with Peter-Neal, gen edition. After all, isn't the bromance the biggest character of the show?

I've done a few fics with the classic Peter-Neal interaction. Either episode tags or separated adventures. Damn it's hard to choose. Let's go with If Anything were to happen to You. This is a post 4x10 written during the mid-season hiatus. This is a fic that opens with Neal having a nightmare, in which he sees his father pointing a gun at Peter. Peter doesn't have a gun, because he doesn't have a badge. For plot purpose I had Peter not rushing to Neal after he broke the news about James being Sam, but I still like that I did say it was against all his instincts (I knew it was unlikely and of course, Peter proved me right, by rushing to Neal ready to draw his gun in 4x11 ;-) ) It's all about Peter and Neal talking friendship, feelings with a classic cuddling in the end.

And this image has been my wallpaper at work since what 2011? It looks "not so girly" enough that I find it safe. And it still makes me feel better than a random Windows XP fake landscape.

Let's pick up If I didn't have you. A good old bromance vid. Because apparently, even when I watch an animated movie, I think of Peter and Neal. Especially when it involved 2 monsters with big hearts bantering all the time... Then of course, they sang "If I didn't have you". I'm sure it's not just me.

Awwww, I definitely remember the fic and the vid (squeee) but I don't remember the wallpaper. And I totally agree that it looks harmless enough to be an office wallpaper, heee \o/

Though I have to admit, I'm shameless at work in that department, heee :P

LOL well... Thing is at any time, my boss, or an eminent colleague can decide to stop by and talk science. I don't really want to be embarrassed by the image of my wallpaper when I switch from one file to another...

So I stick to that one, even though at my new place I have a full HD screen so the image is too small.

It's embarrassing enough that when I open a new tab on firefox all the thumbnails are White Collar or TDK related, or social media.
I do do some science at work but for some reason, firefox considers it less frequent... *facepalm*

Your story was terrific – I wish our boys would have talks like this on the show.

I love the wallpaper, wish I was able to have something like that to stare at during the day but I doubt if I would get much done.

What a fantastic song choice for the video – Peter and Neal need each other, and we need them. :D

The wallpaper is totally awesome - but there's no way I could have it on my work comp - I'd never get any work done. I'd just stare at it all day long.

The thing is, there are just as many files pilling up on my virtual desktop than there are on my real desk. As a result, I don't see the background of either of them that often... ;-)
Plus it's also a reason why I don't change it: I'm so used to it, I don't really pay attention to it anymore.

But I find this promo pic quite interesting, when you think of it, because it's totally misleading on what kind of persons Peter and Neal are.

Oh that, yes, I know... I'm used to it by now.
I had quite a few questions about the kiss photo. "Who's that guy? Is he a cosmochemist? He's a little old isn't he? What's so special about him?"

I remember the vid (loved It) but didn't recall the fic so I had to read it. : )

I love the part in the fic when Neal asks Peter about the Rai Stone in the backyard and teases him that he is now Mozzie's new best Friend. The ending scene with El finding them asleep together on the couch was Sweet. :)
