How about a trip to San Francisco?

Hello my collar friends!

I'm going to Sacramento for a conference the second week of June, and I would like to take the opportunity that I'm crossing the Atlantic to do some sightseeing in the area the following week, starting June 14th. I'd like to go visit San Francisco, and a few other things, like Yosemite Park.

I know it's a little short notice for vacation time, but would there be anyone up to come play tourist with me between 14th and 22th of June?
And for those who know the area: what are the things I need to see while I'm there?

Note: I can't change the dates, because of the conference the week before. (Though I can arrange my touring schedule if we can arrange part-time)
I would really love to meet you all for real one day, so this is one opportunity. And I'm very easy-going, I'm sure we would have a lot of fun.

Aww man, I wish I could! I miss the Bay Area and would love to revisit. :( But I'll be in NYC at the end of May, so there's no way for me to do California a month later. Sigh.

I could give you some pointers where to go and do sightseeing though, at least. :) It's been a few years but I think I'll remember a few things if I really think hard. *g*

Yes, I know, from Europe it's not an easy trip to pull off. That's why I really want to make the best of it while I'm there.

It would probably be easier to meet on this side of the pound. I'm going to Edinburgh next month with Nieseryjna by the way.

Edinburgh is too far for me atm, due to health issues :( It's even further than London from where I am! Ah well, one day maybe! :)

*waves* Me! Me! I'm not far away from SF or even Sacramento, and I think I'm actually pretty open during that time - it's after the quarter ends but before I start teaching summer school.

I don't know about the whole week - I can't leave my cats for that long (especially since I'm asking my roommate to take care of them for 6-7 weeks later in the summer) and I'm going to be prepping to teach summer school. But I could definitely meet you in San Francisco. Alternatively, if you aren't allergic to cats, I can offer the futon in my living room for a few days and we could do things that are within driving distance of me, like the beach/boardwalk in Santa Cruz, day trips up to San Francisco, wine tasting (if that's your thing) in the area, etc. I'm not in San Francisco, but I'm definitely within striking distance of it, and there's a train/public transportation from my area up there as well.

ETA: Yosemite would require an overnight trip - definitely not out of the question, but there'd need to be more planning.

Oh you would offer me to stay at your place? ♥ I'd love to! :-) Cats are not a problem.
Of course I can spend a few days on my own, let you work. If your place is near enough that I could use public transportation, that's all good.
