Because I'm bored, in serious withdrawal, anxiously waiting for the renewal like everyone but I don't want to think about it, and desperate to have any real conversation going.... So, how about the simplest meme ever?
Ask me anything about White Collar.
Anything and everything you've always wanted to ask me, or talk about. It can be silly, serious, specific, general, shallow, thoughtful, meta...You'll be rewarded by a Bonus Whoever You Ask.

Date: 2014-03-14 11:17 am (UTC)I'm not going to ask you about Peter Burke/Tim DeKay again (though I want to), but how about...
How do you see Elizabeth, Peter and Neal in ten years? Twenty years?

Date: 2014-03-14 06:03 pm (UTC)BUT I do have a favorite writer: Sholio. I just love the insight she has on the characters. Especially Peter, but also everyone.
And I've recently been reminded of The Courier, a story she wrote a while back, where Peter is injured. That image of Peter got stuck in my head and wouldn't go away. That's when I first feel the desire to write a story. So, hey, it's about time I credit Sholio for her unsuspected inspiration!
Now that I think of it, maybe your question was about what kind of fics I love the best?
Anything that could be an actual episode, or an actual scene. Emotional h/c and loads of friendship. Also fluff.
The show, despite some angsty moments, has a positive vibe. I need the same positive vibe in the fics.
And a bonus family pic for you!

Date: 2014-03-14 07:32 pm (UTC)Hmmm how do I see them in 10 years... Good question. I guess it's dependent on how I see the end of the series. I used to want an open ending. Neal free, a last hug, and then, it'd be up to us to decide what the future would hold. But the more it goes, the more it seems Neal doesn't want to remain a criminal. At first it looked like he loved Peter too much and that was the one thing preventing him from going back to his life of crime. But despite the many crimes he continues to commit, it seems more obvious now that Neal doesn't like the downsides of being a criminal. The lies, the deception, the impossibility to build a future, relationships... He also doesn't seem as proud as he used to, to be a criminal. So I think Neal really wants to go straight (or fairly straight).
As for Peter and El, well, season 5 gave me a lot to pounder too. I have the feeling the ambitious young Agent Jill had known isn't who Peter is anymore. He might have wanted to rise in the hierarchy of the bureau, but his true love is in the field. He has never appeared very bothered by his career. I think he wanted that DC job because he needed to feel he was back on more solid grounds after all that happened. But a desk job isn't where his heart is.
So, to me, in 10 years, he'll still be ASAC. From there he'll have a better perception on what's going on with his team, with the cases, with people. He'll go occasionally on the field, like Hughes.
I don't believe in 10 years Peter and El will still be separated. So, either she'll come back to NY - she can find a job at one of those great museums in the city - or Peter will be transfered to DC. He could probably take over the Art Crime division there.
By then, Neal will have found his place in the world, a legitimate job. I'm of those who thought that Neal and Sara were a great match and Neal could have a great time working for Sterling Bosch. Or any other company of that sort. In any case, he'll have a independent life from the Burkes. Maybe still living close, or in another town. But they'll always make sure to keep in touch, visiting each other often. Mozzie popping up, too (Mozzie being the exact same old Mozzie).
And Peter would call Neal all the time. Just to check where he is. Even 10 years later, Peter won't be able to get rid of the habit of checking on Neal all the time. ;-)
And a bonus Peter for you.
(You know I'm always ready to answer questions about Peter or Tim... ;-) )

If you're up for another question...
If you could fantasy cast TDK in anything - television show, movie, what role(s) would you give your soul to see him in?

Date: 2014-03-14 08:15 pm (UTC)What your thoughts are on Mozzie?
I know he loves Neal but I don't think he always has Neal's best interest at heart. Whenever Neal expresses interest in going straight and having a normal relationship, instead of supporting him, he (possibly out of insecurity & a fear of being left alone) tells him how that is not possible for people like them.
How about a pic of Peter & Neal. : )

Date: 2014-03-14 09:04 pm (UTC)But okay, let's pick season 5.
- Diana and Mozzie giving birth to Theo in episode 2. "I'm a dad!" "not even close." "I'm a midwife!"
- Mozzie and baby Theo in episode 12. Not that I approve Mozzie reading Lunarcy to a baby, but that scene is so cute. Who would have thought Mozzie would be such a natural with kids?
- The duel between Neal and the shrink in episode 4. So good, and so revelatory of Neal and what he thinks of himself.
- Neal and Rebecca/Rachel in episode 12, when she doesn't know he knows, so they're both lying to each other. And that last scene in episode 13 on top of that fort.
So how about a bonus Teddy, Theo and Diana?

So how about a bonus sexy stakeout from that episode?

Date: 2014-03-15 01:17 pm (UTC)Neal is not like Mozzie. Mozzie has no problem about being a criminal. He's much more assuming about it. Neal loves the heists and the thrill of outsmarting people, but he is in the process of discovering that being a criminal is not so great. Mozzie has no problem having barely any friend, he isn't a social person. And he has what it takes to be a criminal. He is ready to make compromises that Neal wouldn't be comfortable with (stealing a dead boy, putting a price on Keller's head...).
Neal used to be okay with the criminal life, but he's changing and Mozzie has troubles adjusting to it. Not that Neal makes it easy, since he keeps changing his mind (one day he's ready to run, the other he wants to stay...).
I think the problem is that Mozzie doesn't see the point of changing and he certainly wouldn't want to. So he has troubles admitting Neal wants to. Mozzie isn't attracted to the perks of an honest life like Neal.
But Mozzie is also a very loyal friend. He will always be there for Neal, whether to help him run or to help him on an FBI case if Neal asks.
Bottom line, Neal has to make his mind, decide what he wants for himself, and stop letting Mozzie or Peter decide for him. And stop talking about running with Mozzie each time he's upset. Once things will be clear, Mozzie will accept it. But I'm sure he'll remain by Neal's side.
More generally, I agree that Mozzie has insecurity issues. He doesn't like changes and uncertainties.
But he also has a bigger heart than he lets on. He's made his way into the world all by himself, so he doesn't *need* anyone, but he also admits that an unshared life isn't living. He has his own notion of "family". Neal is obviously his closest friend, but he has also included Peter, El, even Diana and Jones. And quite like Peter, once he has accepted people in his "family", he won't let them down.
And your bonus Peter and Neal. One of my favorite scene. :-)

Date: 2014-03-15 01:57 pm (UTC)Does a shower towel can be considered as an outfit?
Of course, the man totally rocks a suit. He's born to wear well tailored clothes.
But I prefer him in more casual outfits. My all time favorite combo is the shirt with opened collar, rolled up sleeves, and jeans. Those long legs...
Alternatively, I like a plain simple t-shirt, to show off the nice lines of his muscular upper body. ;-)

Date: 2014-03-15 03:47 pm (UTC)Though I do admit that they keep sending each others those looks. Mainly Peter actually...
I was kind of expecting a hug in episode 5x01, when Peter thanks Neal for taking out of prison.
But I also expected one in the last episode, and... we got it. :-)
And the founf look of love was definitely there...
I am also very much expecting a hug when Peter will find Neal in season 6. ;-)
And your bonus Peter. Another time when that "look" was so obvious (Kanarek calls it "eye fucking"). ;-)

Date: 2014-03-15 06:32 pm (UTC)I'd love for Tim to appear in Castle and The Good Wife, because they are some of the other shows I really enjoy. Person of Interest could be cool to. That shows has grown on me recently. Plus they're both NY shows and they share a lot of guest stars.
Of course, I would love to see Tim in a significant role in a movie. Can you imagine, seeing him on the big screen? (technically, since I saw Get Smart, I have seen Tim already on the big screen. Too bad it was before I knew him... And given the small part, that doesn't really count). He'd be great in a very human, emotional, vulnerable role.
Like The Descendants. He would have been wonderful in Clooney's role. This is the kind of role totally made for Tim. At the same time emotional with also a comedy side.
I would also just love to see him in a Coen Bros. movie.
A friend also mentioned Flowers for Algernon. I'm sure he'd be terrific, and I'd be such a wreck...
But most of all, I'd just give my soul to see him in a good role in a good movie. And a movie released worldwide. Not a movie stuck in a drawer for years like Naked Under Heaven (by the way, I'd also give my soul to see that one. How many souls can I sell?)
