We were at book 4. I didn't think much of Severus Snape - he was mostly a bully, a bad guy fighting for the good side at the time. But then... Then the first movie came out. And Alan Rickman changed everything.

Of course, Alan Rickman was a lot more than a Happy Potter character, but he was by far the best thing of the HP franchise. The moment he walked into that room, I was doomed. If I rooted so hard for Severus, it's was all Rickman's fault. He made me love Snape. Snape was a great character. The most complex and interesting of the Harry Potter stories. But Alan Rickman gave him yet another dimension.

If I own a Slytherin scarf, it's not because I see myself as a Slytherin. It's only for Severus. Always.

Also, Alan RIckman traumatized me in Robin Hood. And moved me to tears in Snow Cake.
