When I'm not watching White Collar, I am watching Castle. I started watching it a few months before I discovered White Collar. It was shown on French TV and I had been recommanded this show, so I gave it a shot.
I liked it, and continued watching.
Now I love it. It has become better and better with years. Now at season 4, it is, to me, the best network procedural series.
More than that,
it has proven the Moonlighting theory wrong.
The secret romance between Castle and Beckett has been handled to the perfection, and made the most enjoyable episodes ever.
And because I sincerely enjoyed this series, I thought it would so cool to read Rick Castle's bestseller novels.
So I bought Heat Wave, and Deadly Storm. I'm just starting the first one.
I'm such a total geek ! But hey doesn't ABC makes the coolest things ever, creating for real the books of a fictional author ?

Date: 2012-11-20 12:36 pm (UTC)It's still one of my favorite shows (although I have to admit that I'm not into much TV series). I liked ER and CSI: M but stopped watching after George Clooney quit ER and Rory Cochrane was forced to leave CSI:M. I watch Two and a half men, The big bang theory, Justified...but not on a regular basis. Mhm, I guess that's it. Oh, did I mention that I'm a WC-fan? LOL
But back to the basics, Castle is a wonderful series. Plus it's located in NYC, the best place in the world! The idea to create a TV show around the published books is very smart and I like the banter between Beckett and Castle. It's fun to watch and Castle often reminds me of a teenager. His comments and actions are legendary. Thinking of his bullet-proof vest with the word "WRITER" on it. Hilarious! I have seen the books, but so far I haven't been in the mood to actual buy and read them. Although I really like to read (sometimes I wonder when I will find the time to read all of my books I have gathered at home). I guess it's the fact, that the books don't deal with Castle and Beckett but with Nikki Heat and that somehow irritates me. LOL.
Let me know what do you think of the books. Maybe I'll get curious after all.

Date: 2012-11-20 01:00 pm (UTC)I've started reading the book last week. I'm only at chapter two for now.
It's actually a very bizarre experience because you "feel" the Castle's touch. It could totally be written by him. And of course there is Nikki Heat and the journalist... And you so much feel it is Castle's fantasy !
And at the same time, it is like a distorted image of the show, because the names are different, but the characters are just the same.
