OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD. ALL THE FEEEEEELS
You know what's worse than the cliffhanger at the end of season 4 of White Collar? A combination of this S4 cliffhanger with the mid-S3 cliffhanger!!
My sweet baby Tim, arrested and handcuffed while his daughter has been kidnapped!!! Why did I decide, last night at midnight, to watch the episode before going to bed? Took me ages to fall asleep!
And it's not just because Duval is so distressed. It's also that Gracie is in real danger. Connor and Otto seriously give me the creeps. I really really hope Gracie will be alright in the end. Just tell me all is going to be fine...
Though, seriously, isn't that little brat such a stupid idiot?! How can she just ran away?! Doesn't she have a heart, abandonning her loving father? Yes, he overreacted about Garrett, but come on!
At least she was smart enough to react fast enough when she understood the mess she was in and to send her dad some clues.
On the vilain side, I find it unteresting that we have all this palette of bad people.
- Alexa, not a bad person, but way over her head in her dream.
- Otto, a high functioning sociopath, way too possessive of his sister, and lacking some basics compassion genes, but not necessarily a bad person. Not totally bad at least. Smart enough to understand the whole thing, and to confront Connor, but not properly garded against Connor's manipulative evil genius.
- And, thus, finally, Connor, the true evil, because he understand how evil he is and he likes it. At least Otto knows Mary is his conscience, which, in a way, shows he has a conscience. But Connor? What he is ready to do to a teenage girl (and all the persons he's hurt before) for his scary evil dream of immortality? The thought of an immortal club of evil geniuses is down right scary...
I do feel for Alexa. She was just persuing the dream of loving George forever. Luckily George did the right thing (though he could have chosen a less painful death. My blood pressure was already high enough, he didn't need to give me more goosebumps). And hopefully now Alexa is back to the right side. That's the silverlining of the episode.
Mary/Jimmy, I still have some reservation about it. I think I just would like them to aknowledge the age difference. They never really did, in any of those intimate moments they had. They talked about being strangers forced to share that intimacy for the treatment, but not the fact that Jimmy is 75. I think I would buy the Mary/Jimmy a lot more easily if they just aknowledged it.
But hey, they have at best, what? half a day left? So it's not like it's going to be a long term relationship, so hey, who cares having a real relationship...
I do enjoy their scenes together though. And the tank scene was intense enough that the awkwardness of Jimmy being all naked didn't actually occur to me... ;)
One episode left. Hopefully, Duval will be released quickly (and hopefully with his badge and his honor back. Wouldn't want him to end "just like his dad". That'd be really unfair.), and Gracie rescued safely. I do wonder how it'll all end. Connor has plenty of tanks, so Jimmy isn't truly condemned - assuming they all solve everything fast enough.

Date: 2016-03-25 01:03 am (UTC)I was shocked by his decision to tell his boss about the real reason Gracie was kidnapped and that his CI is actually his father. I wonder how that will be resolved.
Poor Gracie. I wanted the boyfriend to be a good guy but I had a feeling something wasn't quite right. I was surprised again when it turned out he was involved with Connor.
Looking forward to the next ep. :)
