Today on Tim DeKay TV: The Ring

Mind you, I'm talking about the 3 hours tv movie, adapted from a book by Danielle Steel. NOT the horror movie based on a japanese horror movie of the same name, about a serial killer video tape. Not at all !
This Ring tells the story of a family torn apart by World War II, after they saved Tim's character's life.
This is epic, and hmm well... cheesy ? I don't know if it makes justice to the original book, but it did not exactly made me want to read it... Not that it is that bad. It's an honest 3 hour long tv movie...
Luckily, I saved you the trouble of a 3 hour watch and put together Tim's 30 min.
And hmm, yeah, the make-up is kind of weird and the mustache is definitely not his style. But he looks good with a fedora !! :D

It probably would have fitted better as a Christmas post... Ah well, I'll post an horror movie for Christmas ;-)

LOL Oh yes there is that too. Forgot to mention it...
I have never understood the need in English fictions to add accents. Either they have actors speaking German, or they assume the fact it's an English-spoken production and everybody speaks English.
I'm not even sure it sounds German at all...

As far as I'm concerned, his accent isn't offbeat. Being German myself, it's always strange to hear this accent. Are we really that bad? LOL

The only thing is that the actors aren't pronouncing the German names right like they should.

I think that woman who plays Ariana, is actually Nastassja Kinski, a German actress by the way.

Oh and yes, the movie is...mhm, cheesy but hey, Tim is in it, so I even watch cheesy movies. Strange make-up and the mustache...had to think of White Collar all the time. *grin*

Since I don't have a LJ account, I'm posting with my facebook account...I have absolutely no clue about this thing. LOL

Actually yes, it was mostly the names that to my ears did not sound German. Though, I gotta say, I don't speak German, and I'm more used to German accent in French. I guess you're a better judge that I am, so that's good if you think his accent isn't too bad. ;-)

As for Tim, I forgot to mention that he said "Dankeschön" (Thank you very much) and that sounded really good. I'm still impressed though, that he managed to speak that accent. Wasn't it in the gag reel for season one that he tried to speak with an Belgian accent and failed? Or do I imagine things already? LOL Too much Tim and WC, I guess.

PS: I've snatched a few avatars from you ;-) in order to get used to LJ. I hope you don't mind? Although I guess I haven't full access to LJ at all. Tried to "update" for a full account, but it doesn't work.

I don't remember the gag reel, but when I met Tim last year he said a few words in French and his accent was pretty good !
Yes I remember his "Dankechön" and that's true it sounded good.

Of course you can use my avatars ! That's what they are meant for and I love seeing them around. ;-)
Not sure about the "full account". I am using an "account plus" (same as you apparently) which is free. All I know is that I signed up for a free account and got set up with that. You might have to pay for a "full account".

I think I finally managed to open up an account. I was confused (and LJ as well I guess) when I logged in with my facebook account and after that I couldn't change the name and stuff like that. Now I'm available as "melles76". At least I hope so.

Aaah, another one who had already met Tim (and/or Matt). Now I'm jealous! *grin*

I have to re-watch the extra DVD section to be sure, but I don't think I have made this one up with Tim trying to speak with an Belgian accent. Although I have no clue how Belgians sound at all. And apparently Tim didn't know either, because I think Matt was making fun of him.

Ah yes, meeting Tim (and Matt) was one of the highlights of my year :-)
