This is heartbreaking and sickening. I can't help but think I was living there not so long ago. It was my life. It could have been me. I could have been going out tonight, could have been a victim, or at least been caught in the fear and confusion of a major city closing down afterward, on a Friday night.
Each time I hear updates, the number of casualties have increased, and it hurts a little more. I'm glad that I don't live in Paris anymore. I feel Madison, is negligible enough to be safe. And yet, it's also hard to be so far from my country in events like that.
Thank you to all for your kind words. They are truly appreciated. It brings little comfort to know people care and that we're not alone.

Date: 2015-11-14 08:17 am (UTC)My heart is with all the "Parisiens" but the best answer we can give to these terrorist is what the citizens that were at the "Stade de France " did while they were stacked in queue exiting after the game .. they started singing "The Marseillaise"Terrorism can't win..

Date: 2015-11-14 07:19 pm (UTC)Yes, I'm shell-shocked myself. It's terrible. And I'm afraid it's going to become a new normal, living with this constant fear that it could happen again, anywhere.
And it feels even worse for me, that I know the place. I've walked those neighborhoods, I could still be living there, and I can't imagine what it must feel like for the people there.
