The fourth attempt was the good one. Finally, I successfully booked that instrument! By the way, it's a FIB. It means Focused Ion Beam. I tend to type it FBI, oddly enough...
And tomorrow, I'll be able to sleep it off until 7 am. :)

Also, it's confirmed, Neal is in France.
Yesterday, a van filled with 20 millions € worth of stamps - yes 20 millions € in stamps! - was stolen... They found the van today. Apparently all was there. But really, did they count the millions of stamps one by one?
Odd theft, huh?
And they don't have any suspect. This has Caffrey written all over it, I'm telling you!

FBI tool, and what does it really do?

Neal in France, check, an odd theft check. I'm sure he just needed one to make a perfect copy... wonder when we will hear about forged stamps all over France.. :D

FIB makes different things. Mainly it'd be like a very tiny laser, allowing to cut into the matter, at a very small scale. In my case I want to remove a tiny square of the protective layer of carbon that we're putting on samples, so that the surface would appear directly. (that's the subject of the abstract I posted on Instagram the other day ;) ) Not easy to explain in a few words...
