4. Something you made just for yourself
Fanfic
I tend to write what I'd like to read (isn't that the case for everyone?), though I don't really write just for myself. I wouldn't publish it otherwise - not even bother write it at all. But still, there's one story I did write mostly because I wanted it and no one had written it. I was looking for an episode tag to Checkmate and all I could find were Neal-centric stories! Not that I mind a little whump!Neal, but that reunion should be all a Peter/El moment. And no Peter/El tag to be found. So I did it myself. It's called Happy Endings and it's a couple additional scenes after Peter and El are reunited.
It's still one of my earliest fics, and it does feel a little awkward at times...
Fanart
Most of my wallpapers are first and foremost made for my own contemplative pleasure. Which is why a lot of them are still 1600x900, though I try to remind myself these days that I should probably make them 1920x1080 if I want to share them.
But basically, when I do a wallpaper just for myself, all I need is that adorable face. So, I keep the "artistic" at the minimum.
Fanvids
It wasn't easy to find a video that fitted the "just for yourself". Like everything else, I make fanvids as part of my own fannish entertainment, but also in the hope it'll entertain others just as much. So I was scratching my head looking over my masterlist and then I saw that one. We Will Stand Tall. It was in a sense, for myself, as it worked as a catharsis to get over my trauma of Peter being arrested... Still not completely over that one... Despite the second therapeutic vid I did. In a Jailhouse. This is my therapy. Step one: face your fears. Step two: make fun of it. Step three: Give Tim that hug you've been wanting to give Peter the entire last season.
The Days:
1. Something old
2. Something new - talk about a new fanwork of yours!
3. Something you made for someone else
4. Something you made just for yourself
5. Something for a large fandom/pairing/character
6. Something for a small fandom/pairing/character
7. Something you're just really proud of.

Date: 2014-07-22 12:36 pm (UTC)I'm hoping to get onto this meme next week - there's a photo I want to share and it needs scanning in, so that will probably get done at the weekend by hubby (he's better at it than me).
