Hope Under Heaven....

I won't give up hope that one day we'll be able to see Naked Under Heaven. You may remember that back in 2012 (time flies!) I had reached out to Bill Bilowit, the director. He had kindly answered me at the time that they were hoping to get the movie properly released in 2013. Well this is 2014, so I thought it was time to ask for an update. More than a year later, that wouldn't appear too anxiously-harrassing-fangirl, right?

Bill - definitely a nice guy, just for that they all deserve to get that movie released! - has once again taken the time to give me an update on the project. Which is, basically, that it's not done yet. But there's hope. Oh, and there's also that wonderful - if a little cryptic - bit about Tim and his future career.

Hi, thanks for keeping in touch.

It is certainly a long journey to try and get our film released and we are not giving up, there is an agent now helping us and we are very optimistic about this year. We have had private screenings in New York last year and will have more soon in March-Apriil in LA, the results are to get the film known in circles that can help us find distribution.

After achieving enough one-on-one awareness and interest by industry folks we will bear the expense of licensing / replacing soundtrack music, which is the only remaining financial hurdle to bring the film into readiness for a deal; that’s very costly so we need some definitive progress before such a step.

That’s the update. At least in the mean time we can continue to enjoy Tim’s career as it grows, deservingly. I know from personal experience that as wonderful as you see Tim’s work now, this is a small fraction of his exceptional capabilities on and off camera; new levels are ahead. But you know that already, since you are a serious appreciator of true talent.

Kudos to Mr. Bilowit to even answering. It also shows how strange Hollywood and overall entertainment business is... I wonder if they ever succeed, let's keep our fingers crossed!

I really hope they'll get that film released one day!
But yeah, the business seems to be a very strange planet... The film being completed already, it must not cost that much money...
And with new technologies, they could just put it online. I'd even pay for a legal digital copy!
