aragarnaHey, sorry for the delay guys! It's certainly not that I didn't enjoy that season finale (except the fact it was the season finale). Wow what a rollercoaster that season was! And we exit with a bang! So much love! So much emotion! So much fright!
I can't believe it's over already....
- Team White Collar! Nothing like Mozzie's life on the line and a little treasure hunt to get everyone back together! And everyone being at the top of their game.
Mozzie, and his crazy conspirationist knowledge, Peter, decoding codes in 5 seconds, Neal making a clever switch... And let's not forget awesome Team semi-Suits! Jones and Diana. It seems like Jones is the tech and botanic expert of the team. :-)
- Creepy Rebecca, having too much pleasure patting our boys down...
Oh that scene at the top of the fort. I was so nervous! Half expecting Rebecca (should try to call her Rachel by now) to shoot Neal, then expecting her to jump. I didn't see her surrender. But I really liked that scene. It makes her relationship with Neal more real, more complex. They did share something. They also have an understanding of each other (after all, they both conned each other and fell for their mark..). They seem to get closure. Also, it makes Rebecca more real and less a simple psycho.
- everyone's face at the sight of the diamond! I think Mozzie wins the palm.
- the hug!! oh my god! All the scene at the FBI by night. the emotions on their faces! Oh boys... They both looked like they're about to cry. Neal's childish excitement as he leaves is so moving.
- Neal saying he's quitting the life! \o/ Okay, it didn't last long, but as he ever been so affirmative before?
And lol the argument you need money to live in Paris. Not untrue, but considering they're living in freaking Manhattan, that's just laughable!
- Peter turning down DC... Not really a surprise. But I do like the justification. It makes sense. Okay, the revelation that the bureaucrats are out of touch kind of appear a little naive... But what matters is that Peter is still the man of principles he's always been. There are things he won't tolerate, neither from Kramer, not from the FBI director. I also wonder how much this decision is Peter trying to finally do something right, taking a stand and restore his integrity.
But the biggest surprise of this episode is El still going to DC. It did make me feel weird at first. The Burkes, living apart?! But on a second thought (second viewing) I really liked that scene. It tells so much about them. And I have no doubt it won't jeopardize their marriage. It's just a new challenge. Plus I love how they respect and understand each other. They don't argue, don't try to convince the other to change their mind, they don't make each other miserable. They actually encourage each other's decision.
On a more shallow note, so happy to get one more casual Peter - jeans! - before the break! ♥
And then the obligatory cliffhanger. Neal in peril! Which promises Peter to the rescue! fear and action and love and more hugs...
I do feel like a terrible person because I'm not very scared for Neal. I mean, it's kind of a clean cliffie. There's not so many ways to solve a kidnapping (and luckily, we're watching White Collar, a family friendly, Ara-friendly show). And at least, the season arc got closed successfully, justice was served, the bad girl is behind bars. The opposite of last season's finale. I feel so much better than last year!
Okay, still, poor baby. Fate doesn't seem inclined to give Neal a break... I wonder what impact the kidnapping might have on him. And how it might lead the season arc for the next season...
