So it seems episode 5 existed in a parallel universe. We're back into "season arc" universe now, and the last case was the shrink one. What?! No, I want to go back to sexy-and-hot-shirtless-Peter universe!!! Oh wait, that was also not-so-sexy-full-of-flu-Peter... Oh well...

It seems the show has decided to over-please every week the fangirl in me. As usual, some random squee. :-)

- Peter !
One of the things I really like about Peter is that he is a happy guy, and I love seeing him happy, like that glimpse at his 10 years self admiring a figure skater. Also, as much as I love seeing Neal showing off his multipe talents, I love even more when Peter reminds us he has just as many aces down his sleeve, even if he doesn't brag about it.

So, this is Peter's time to show off an unsuspected talent: he skates! And Tim has quite the move on the ice, which makes for some really nice scenes in the rink.

And heeee Peter had to tease El for her Bambi style. Nice reversal of the usual tease of Peter's awkwardness. ;-)

- Which leads us to Peter/El. awww I ship them so much.
This is nice that the show is adressing El's concerns. it was high time, and this is totally justified. Luckily, this is downplayed enough that it seems real, even for Peter and El, and not over-dramatic. Of course, there's not much Peter can really say/do to reassure El beside promising he won't let anything happen to him (Which actually worried me to death because each time Peter makes a promise the sky falls on his head. :-$ ). Though, I'd say that a kiss and that look would actually make me feel a little better.

And you can trust the show for a wonderful make-up scene. ;-) Despite all those things fate tries to throw at them, they so much love each other, they won't let those occasional little disagreements come between them.

And don't you just love that instead of taking El to a public ice rink (which I'm pretty sure exists in NYC!), Peter prefers the intimacy of a crime scene rink?

- Neal.
With his island shirt! :-)

And though I think flirting with a mark is a VERY dangerous game (Remember Kate?) and lying a very wrong way to start a story, I just loved how Neal literally lit up learning Rebecca did time. LOL Not the reaction one would expect when sharing such information. He so loves bad girls... Rebecca seemed almost too nice to be his type, but if she's a thief, this totally changes the game!

- Katya.
[The Americans 'verse fusion] The Russian girl who works for Fowler! Be careful, Peter, she's a spy, she's sent by your OPR nemesis!

More seriously, she's really cute. And I like that she was more than a simple damsell in distress. She saw "FBI" and saw an opportunity to get out of troubles, and she was quick to play along with Neal's coach story. And the fork LOL (that must hurt, even a tough Russian like Sergeï)
Loved her interaction with Peter. Who can resist protective!Peter? Gentleman and papa bear Peter doesn't approve rude men treating women badly. Just for that he'll make sure to cuff the guy.

Also, he got a hug!

- Neal/Peter. Interesting development here. They don't exactly talk, but there's still something in that direction. Peter tells Neal he knows he stole the money, Neal doesn't really deny. This is clearly not season 3. It's more frustration over unshared secrets than anger and hurt. And the usual banter is still very much here, including the usual bickering and method disagreement. :-)

- The mystery thickens around Chapter Thirteen!
Here is where we are: Mosconi doesn't write chapters 13. Neal stole for Hagen a chapter 13 from a book no one has ever opened. How did Hagen know there would be a chapter 13? How does Hagen know this chapter has anything to hide? Who wrote it, and is it real to start with? Who owns that book, and seriously, what's the point of a book you can't read? *rolls eyes like Peter when Neal makes him a figure skating coach*
I know people are intrigued by how Rebecca fits in this story, but really, it's how Hagen fits that intrigues me the most.

Other random squees:
- Rebecca. Can't read her, but I'm glad she made the connection between the card and Neal. She's not that naive.
- June \o/
- Mozzie's disguise of the week: FBI !
- Jones eating an ice cream, which reminded me of Brad Pitt in Ocean's Twelve ("Thief à la mode"). Also, badass Jones rescuing Neal!
- Neal and Jones' faces when Peter makes that Doris Day reference. LOL

And did I mention how much I love Peter happy?
