We also have Red Pandas in our local zoo, and they are the most adorable things ever!!! *smishes them*

I saw your comment in china_shop's LJ, and had to come look at the Red Pandas. We have Red Pandas in the Detroit Zoo, and the female has had cubs every year for the last five years or so. Cutest Animals On The Planet. This year, I got to see the babies while they were still small enough for their mama to carry them around.

Squeeeeeee!!! Adorable cubs!

Our zoo is very cautious about announcing births and letting the babies outside; they wait until the babies are definitely thriving.

I was surprised to see this year's cubs outside so early; I usually don't see them until the snow arrives. But Gansu and his brother Meriadoc (don't ask me why Gansu isn't Peregrine) love to play in the fallen leaves.
