It fascinated me to see this clip, to finally see him in the orange jumpsuit; watched the video several times.

This capture, in particular, is a testament to Tim's talent and range of facial expressions. Peter looks so shell-shocked and forlorn, but at the same time, he's still mustering his inner strength enough to hold his head high.

Those times he put Neal in prison have taken on a completely different meaning now that he's been on the other side of the bars. Sure, he was just doing his job at the time and bringing Neal to justice, but since then, Neal has become a close friend.

Being arrested and having to go through this ordeal is probably making Peter rethink those times he put Neal through this same experience. Now he knows what Neal went through, how he felt, what he was thinking, how dehumanizing it must have been - and that he went through these things because Peter put him there.

He is, as Sophocles said, suffering twice - in reality and in retrospect.

You know, I cut exactly the same pic out oft the sneakpeek because it's sooooooooooo awesome, cute, heartwrenching and well, beautiful. His look, soooooo pityful. I could smish him to the ground. And exactly that I was wishing for: Neal visiting Peter in prison and Peter in orange. Hopefully not so long, though.

It's an interesting point. But there is still a big difference. Neal went to prison for crimes he commited. And it was only 4 years.
I'm sure Peter had an idea of what prison was like.
For me, my main concern about Peter is that the System is believes so much in is failing him. Facing lifetime for a crime you didn't commit must be pretty hard, esp for someone who trusted the system.

Yep, definitely still a big difference!

As far as prison life, I'm sure he had an idea, but there's no way to actually know without going through it. Back when he was chasing Neal, he probably wouldn't have given it a second thought. Now that they're so close, it's probably quite a different feeling seeing what Neal had to go through for four years, plus the times he was put back in.

I agree totally about the system failing him; I could see this possibly being the biggest issue for him. Even though he did redraw the lines (as Hughes said) a little bit, he was still doing it because he wanted to bring those involved in the corruption to justice.
