Hello there!
Just a quick note that I'm in Japan for 3 weeks. And because I've been very busy preparing the conference, I haven't had a chance to anticipate anything. So I'm sorry, I'll likely miss posting on TDK Daily for the coming few weeks and will probably be mostly AWOL until mid July.

And also, happy belated birthday leesa_perrie! I'll write you a little something when I get back I promise.

I've been travelling West, crossed the Pacific Ocean for the first time, though as a European, Japan is Eastern to me. The country of the rising sun. So, that's officially the farther East I've been. And I can now say I've reached both sides of the Pacific Ocean :D
Jet lag is difficult though. It's 14 hours of difference with Madison... (Or 10 hours minus a day)

Finally, it's too bad I'm in Japan, I've heard it was the moment to go shopping in London. :-P
(More seriously it makes me very sad...)

LOL you're welcome. The result did make me sad, but when I heard the pound was going down, that was my first thought "oh now would be a good time to go to the UK" ;)

And actually I've just been invited to a conference in London next winter... So please, keep it down for a few more months... ;)

Oh boy the jetlag was hard. It's better now, but it's been a few difficult first days... By the second day I was sleeping reasonably well, but it's the middle of the afternoon (which is the middle of the night in US time) that is sooo hard. My brain feels switched off!

I've actually been invited to a conference in London in February. Let's see if my boss agrees first, but please keep the pound low until then!! ;)

It's called the Goldschmidt conference. It's an international conference about Geochemistry (it's a specialty of geology).
