4. How many fic ideas are you nurturing right now? Care to share one of them?

I have mainly 2 fics nurturing right now. One that I'll try to make for the BB, and another that was inspired by an emotional Person of Interest episode last year.

The BB idea would be about Peter trying to get close to a ring of corrupt cops. This would be set during the time Neal is dead, and he would heard that Peter is in trouble and run back to NY.

21. How many times do you usually revise your fic/chapter before posting?

Hmm I don't know. I reread/rewrite a lot when it's in progress. Once complete, I'd say a couple times. One for story/coherence/fluence, and one for grammar/spelling. So I guess the

38. Talk about a review that made your day.

Someone the other day read my post S6 triptych (Why Does My Heart / Death is not Always the End / Where To Stop the Story) and was apparently very touched and emotional about it. I think it particularly resonated in her, and this is exactly what she was looking for.

But more generally, I just like when people feel I am true to the characters, or when they say they could totally see it happening in the show.

17. Do you write your story from start to finish, or do you write the scenes out of order?

In order, like 99% of the time. I usually know where I'm going, and I have pictured/written key scenes in my head during the nurturing process, but then when I actually start writing, it's from start to finish. I do revise or complete scenes in the process most of the time though. Especially when writing those long heartfelt dialogues where I feel like a particular point would be better later/sooner.

There's one exception, which was my post season 5 20k Big Bang. I had this idea of a sort of journal from the beginning, and I was picturing particular scenes, and then it started growing and I thought I needed to add plot, so I went back and completed the story, also trying to give Neal as much as time as Peter (both for a question of structure and balance in my story and because I thought it was important to show that Neal did try to escape. Cause that's Neal. Even though I had the image of Peter finding him from the very start)

15. If you could choose one of your fics to be filmed, which would you choose?

I think Miles To Go Before I Sleep (http://aragarna.livejournal.com/97357.html), my post S5 fic is the one that has the most cinematographic potential.
Also, I'd love to see anything from the Fatherhood Chronicles, because Peter and Little Neal ♥♥

37. Talk about your current wips.

I have a soon-to-be-posted fic that takes place at Neal's funeral, based on an idea from Sheeniani. :) It's coming soon, so I don't want to spoil it too much. Stay tuned!
Otherwise, I'm planning on completing my Neal/Sara series, Four Seasons, and I need to get started on the story I hope to submit for the BB.

Also, I'm planning on starting soon a new Tim video, and I also have a good song for a White Collar video...

1. Describe your comfort zone—a typical you-fic.

A typical-me fic would be an episode tag where I explore a character's feelings and inner thoughts about a situation that happened in the show.
Or it can be an hypothetical event (what if Neal gets shot? What if for once it's Peter that is in danger, or even hey what if Peter thought Neal was dead) and I explore the emotional repercussions for other characters (and most of the time it's Peter because he's the one I "get" the most. Or the complicated friendship between Peter and Neal because that's the emotional core of the show and what draws me to it).
It's usually full of feelings and friendship and warmth (Well, at least that's what I'm aiming at).

The other typical-me would be the light and fluffy slice of life, especially with Peter/El and Little Neal.

8. Share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.

13. What’s the best writing advice you’ve ever come across?

That one I'm not sure. I haven't been given a lot of advice and I didn't look for much advice either. I mostly look at what I think works in other fics, what I like and what attracts my attention. And I stick to what I know (I will never write a very detailed medical procedure, because I don't know enough to feel comfortable pretending I do for exemple). Also, when I read a fic, I don't care for the medical stuff (or any too technical stuff), I care a lot more for the characters and how they deal with what happens to them. So I don't waste time on the things I tend to skip in the fics I read.

Regarding my WIP, there's one that I mentioned to you ages ago (Peter taking down corrupted cops) and that I'm finally decided to tackle. I remember you offering brainstorming so I might get back to you about it at some point, depending on how stuck I am LOL.

11. Is writing your passion or just a fun hobby?

Writing fanfics is definitely just a fun hobby. For me, along with art and vids, it's a way to expend the experience with a show (or an actor) I love, staying in that universe.

You know the feeling you have that when you open a book, it's like opening a window to a different universe? Well, all my arts, no matter the form, is a way to keep the window opened.

19. Stephen King once said that his muse is a man who lives in the basement. Do you have a muse?

I've always thought that was a weird question. Or a weird thing to say from Stephen King. I wouldn't say I have a muse. I have materials, stories, characters, that inspire me. White Collar inspires me, Peter Burke inspires me. But I wouldn't say Peter is my muse. Peter is a character. But I don't personify my inspiration.

35. Would you ever kill off a canon character?

Oh god no! It's painful enough to have to deal with the fact that Neal is dead for everyone else for a year, god I wouldn't inflict that on anyone. I don't know, I feel like writing it would feel as if I was the one inflicting it to the characters, and I care for them way too much for that. I have issues with violence and pain, people suffering, and killing someone off would be way too painful for the ones left behind.

Also, come to think of it, I don't think I would kill off a bad guy if I could avoid it, even if no one would really care. Killing people feels just wrong.

2 Is there a trope you’ve yet to try your hand at, but really want to?

Hmmm I don't know. I know what I would never do, but I don't know if there's anything I like I haven't tried. Thing is, I don't really think in term of "tropes". I think more in term of situations, stories ideas, scenes, feeling. I've done some h/c, some fluff, crossovers, cracks, long fics, short fics...
I certainly want to do that plotty fic I'm thinking about, but I did plots before, so that's not even new (even if not my most common).

But mostly, I just write what passes through my mind, I don't really think in term of categories.

4. How many art ideas are you nurturing right now? Care to share one of them?

At the moment? Nothing :-(
I keep telling myself I should do more Second Chance icons, cause I did only the first few episodes. Though it doesn't seem to be a big interest for it anyway...
Also I really want to do other pages for the Great Book of Little Neal, but I'm a little dry at the moment. I've played with a couple ideas, looked for pics, but nothing that truly inspired me.

But I did update my Fanfic masterlist recently, so I can share those in case you missed them. :)

Image Image Image Image

And I need to do one for Winter! And also for my soon-to-be-posted fic!! (I really need to find a title, it'd made it easier to talk about it LOL)

Yes a title is always useful to talk about the fic :D wanna brainstom? ;)

12. Is there an episode above all others that inspires you just a little bit more?

Well, the finale probably, mostly because it's the last one and it left things so open. It's not necessarily my all time favorite episode, but in term of inspiration I can't deny it's been very inspiring. Which is probably why I still love it so much as an ending, despite certain reservations regarding the fake-death thing. ;)

I've written 10 fics that are directly dealing with it, plus 3 Fatherhood Chronicles.

Silver medal goes to 5x01, for which I've written 4 episode tags. ;)

23. If you were to revise one of your older fics from start to finish, which would it be and why?

Probably the very first one, that feels so naive and a little embarrassing now... The other ones I still like them the way they are. :)

29. If you could write the sequel (or prequel) to any fic out there not written by yourself, which would you choose?

Hmmm I'm gonna skip that one. Can't think of any, and I wouldn't dare touching someone else's work.

Instead I'll pick those of my stories that could be fun to give a sequel to:
Strangers in the Park (http://aragarna.livejournal.com/170082.html) (the WC/PoI crossover)
Crossing Over (http://aragarna.livejournal.com/184476.html) (WC/Second Chance crossover)
Gotham's City Finest Cop and Robber (http://aragarna.livejournal.com/9364.html)

(not saying I would actually do any of those...)

LOL Oops !!

8. Share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.

It is quite a difficult one. It's hard to think of them all of the top of my head like that. But I'll go with this one, from Keeping You Close to my Heart (http://aragarna.livejournal.com/74833.html):

Neal’s retort was lost when he identified the card he was holding. It was Peter’s baseball rookie card.

“You keep it in your wallet?”

Peter sent Neal an awkward look as he took his card back and slid it carefully in his wallet before putting it back in his jacket.

“I didn’t know you were such a sentimental, Peter,” he teased. “It reminds you of your baseball glory?”

Peter shook his head. “Oh no, it’s all about the person who gave it to me.”

[...]

“You – You keep me in your wallet?”

“God no, you’d steal everything,” Peter winked. “ Come on, I have a meeting in five.”

14. What’s the worst writing advice you’ve ever come across?

Well, there have been people who thought it was their duty to "open my eyes" on how wrong my depiction of Peter was... Which was just rude and wrong.

20. Describe your perfect writing conditions.

Sitting on my sofa, my laptop on my lap, and some TV show as background on TV. Or a film. Something that I don't really care enough to truly follow (So it couldn't be White Collar, because I hate missing a single second of it... ;) ) but not too stupid either. Could aslo be the radio. Just something that would feel the silence, even if I don't actually listen to it.

27. How do you feel about collaborations?

I love collaborations, I've always enjoyed team work. That's the main reason I participate to challenges, even if, well, they can be real challenges for me. ;)
