Let's Shake Some Squee - Second Chance 1x07 That Time in the Car

What a great episode this one was! So full of wonderful feelings and family moments, and shocker!

And a lovely marine blue sweater.

So let's start with the family moments. Great scenes between Jimmy, Duval and Helen.
I'm glad Jimmy finally got more time with Helen and showed that he cares about her too, and not just his law enforcement son.
I'm not sure it makes things easier to let Helen believe Jimmy is her brother, but it makes for endless funny moments - "I think Dad would love what I've done to the place, don't you?" "Sure, he's always asked me to bring more.... crystals."
And somehow it also brings up all the emotions, because it's easier for them to talk their heart.

Tim and Rob are really a delight to watch together. Rob is so good at being a grumpy old man, and Tim the exasperated son, and both of them sending each other all the looks and stare.

Hello! We've brought cookies. And hum... a DVD...

And it was nice to see the Pritchard boys teaming up and being protective of their sister (and daughter), and Jimmy showing his softer side.

The scenes with Otto were poignant. On top of all the social challenge, having to deal with the guilt of his parents' death must serioulsy weight down on him.
And the poor kid. Wouldn't talk until he was 9, and when he decides to, he's told he talks too much? He just had a lot of catching up to do!
I do hope he's seeing a psychiatrist...

and OMG Alexa!! What the hell did Otto do ?! - wait are they making feel so much for Otto only to later reveal all the cold-bloody horrible things he's capable of?
But seriously, what did he do to Alexa? Was he a previous Jimmy? But Jimmy is supposed to be "the first one to journey all the way back" as they like reminding us every time. And how come it involved Otto, but not Mary? I want to know! Is it Friday yet?

But with this said, it's actually a miracle that I managed to follow anything of the episode, because damn, was Tim hot, once again... Casual Tim, with those deep and caring brown eyes, does things to me...

Oh and because it was definitely a perfect episode, we even got to see the sexy kevlar again

And a wink! Looks like it's Duval's trademark.

Just watched the show...

The wink, OMG what's going on?! This is so much fun. Are we getting one every two weeks? Cause if so, I'm all for it! Pretty please, again ..... must have clip to add to my now growing collection!

I much preferred this week to last. I'm not a big fan of plot lines that kill prostitutes in never ending ways.

The Mary/Otto twist? I have no clue what is going on with Mary. This is so intriguing. She must have known her every move in the house was being recorded. I am so confused.

I liked this week's case much better than last week. It's not as much the prostitutes than the creepy kidnappers torturing their victims.
The show is much better and much more interesting with the family drama than the cases anyway.
Plus we had almost twice as much Tim this episode than last week.

Btw, pretty sure Alexa said that Conner brought her back, not Otto. Though how he did and why he can't do so again without Otto's work, I don't know.

Well, she said Connor saved her, but earlier in the episode, she said that Otto threw her out before she was even formed.
Oh though that would explain the fact that Jimmy is officially the first one. (Told you I was distracted...)
So, Otto failed with Alexa and then Connor helped her. Still a little confused how Mary wouldn't know any of this. Or how Otto wouldn't know who Alexa is. Or why they need Otto's work since Connor managed to save Alexa.

Ah, I hadn't picked up the bit about Otto for some reason. Though yeah, why doesn't Mary know about it? Did Otto start working on it without Mary knowing? That's quite possible, actually!

It would seem something Otto would do. And after all, he did started with Jimmy without Mary's consent. But I'm surprise Mary doesn't know about it. Especially given their Big Brother way of life...

Squealllll I just knew there was more to Alexa's story! I'm actually super excited to see where this goes. Do you think that maybe she was a failed "created from scratch" prototype that Otto tried to create to help Mary? And maybe her blood type wasn't correct so he kicked her out? And then Connor "saved her" by taking her in and/or setting her up or covering up her origins or whatnot? Sorry, I don't know why I am so drawn to this particular storyline... But I love speculating!

This was indeed a great episode. So many amazing Duval/Jimmy moments. Love it. And Otto. I agree. He was heartbreaking in this, but I can't help but feel like they are setting us up to feel for him only to show us an array of terrible things he has done. I can't wait for Friday!!

Oh yes, I'm totally with you about Otto. We've seen glimpses of his darker side, and I wouldn't be surprised if he had done other things without Mary's consent.

And yes Alexa!!! OMG!!! Your speculations sound quite reasonable to me. I'm so excited to see it all unfold!
